In 1998, the Italian-born and successful banker Roberto Bottega founded the Idiom winery. He runs the winery together with his family. Its 40 hectares of Da Capo Vineyards are located at an altitude of approximately 200-350 m above sea level. NN on the back of the Helderberg in close proximity to Sommerset West and False Bay. This location is the southeasternmost corner of the Stellenbosch wine-growing region. Surrounded by the mountains and a picturesque backdrop, the Tasting & Visitor Center overlooks the entire False Bay.
