They are his two great passions: "Winemaking and filmmaking are two great art forms," he says himself. Over the past decades, Coppola, in collaboration with his outstanding oenologist and wine strategist Corey Beck, has released a series of very successful wines. In 1975, Francis Ford Coppola acquired part of the formerly world-famous Inglenook Estate in Napa Valley, which had been founded by the Finnish Captain Niebaum 100 years earlier. There, Chief Winemaker and CEO of the winery Corey Beck created a total of 11 independent wine brands over time and initiated a vine sustainability programme. With this step, the winery armed itself against the advancing climate change in California thanks to intelligent water management and biodiversity. They were awarded the Green Medal Award for their sustainability efforts. "Every drop we make is used at least twice!" is how Francis formulates his vision. The Francis Ford Coppola Winery has already been awarded "Winery of the Year" twice by the International Wine and Spirits Competition and the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
